Software Engineer

Ecotality North America is currently looking for a software engineer with experience in software development and expertise in the area of user interfaces, signal processing algorithm implementation, and real-time processing/computing. Demonstrated experience with software design and development is a must. The ability to join science and ingenuity to solve unusual and complex problems is what we need. Candidates will demonstrate an ability to participate in software development areas including design, development, test and validation.

Candidates will enjoy working in a small company environment and will be willing to participate in all areas of the Company’s business at all levels. Candidates will be self-starters, comfortable working with little supervision, will be capable of providing their own direction and will excel at learning new skills and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, integrate/test, and maintain software used in real-time embedded systems for automotive industry processing applications using C, C++ and Python software development tools on Linux and Windows platforms
  • Port embedded software written in python to C/C++
  • Write unit test documents and perform unit testing
  • Support corporate product development through use of best-practice software development methods

Required skills for this position (Software Engineer):

  • Demonstrated experience developing embedded software in the full software lifecycle. Minimum two years experience in the following areas: Software System Design; Software System Development; Software System Integration; Software System Testing
  • Embedded C development experience (3-5 years)
  • Embedded C++ development experience a plus
  • Python development experience a plus
  • Demonstrated and solid understanding of Object Oriented Design and/or Analysis (OO, OOD, OOA, OOAD)
  • Demonstrated experience with revision control systems and structures, including CVS and Subversion
  • Experience (min 2 years) in at least two of the following is required (will need to cover all areas with team in aggregate):
    • GUI development, including graphical display of signal related data
    • Developing real time or near real time processing/computing
    • Developing and debugging multi-threaded applications
    • Linux development
  • Associates or Bachelor degree preferred, work experience accepted
  • Must be able to work in a matrix-type environment

Must be authorized to work in the United States (Citizen or Resident Alien)

Salary Range:  $65k - $75k
